Alan J. England

Mr. Alan J. England, age 68, of Temple, GA passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017 at his residence.

He was born in Miami. Florida on November 19, 1948 a son of Clayton Charles England and Isabel Irene Dahlen England. Mr. England had been a resident of Temple, GA for the past thirteen years moving from Dallas, GA where he had lived for thirty five years. He was of the Pentecostal faith and a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Vietnam War. Mr. England was a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal W/60 Device, Vietnam Campaign Medal W/2 Stars, Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star Medal and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, cooking, reading and spending time with his family. Mr. England worked as a field engineer with Pinkerton & Law Construction.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia England of Temple to whom he was married on November 4, 1980; two daughters: Dawn Marie Smith, Rockmart and Emberly Ann Davis, Dallas; two grandchildren: Jacob Owen Smith, Rockmart and Madelyn Ellis Smith, Rockmart; four sisters: Marilyn Bryant, Titusville, FL, Carolyn Riggerman, Titusville, FL, Sandra Causey, Cumming and Linda Robertson, Cumming; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 11:00 am in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Lewis officiating and the Honor Guard of American Legion Post # 12 according military rites.

Inurnment will follow at 2:00 pm in the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA.

The family will receive friends Tuesday morning from 10:00 am until the service hour at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made in Mr. England's memory to Furkids Animal Rescue & Shelter, 2650 Pleasantdale Rd. Atlanta, GA 30340.
