Alvin Arness Kimmons

Mr. Alvin Arness Kimmons, age 46, of Winterville Drive (the Yorkville community) Rockmart, GA passed away Thursday, July 7, 2011 from injuries received in an automobile accident in Bartow County, GA.


Arness was born in Decatur, GA on January 19, 1965 a son of Benjamin Alvin Kimmons and Mary Garner Kimmons. He had been a resident of the Yorkville community for the past five years moving there from Kennesaw, GA. Arness was a graduate of Spruce Creek High School in Port Orange, FL and had attended West Georgia College in Carrollton, GA. He was a former law enforcement officer having been employed by the Cartersville Police Department, the Bartow County Sheriffs Department and the Cobb County Sheriffs Department. He was presently employed by Walmart in Cartersville. Mr. Kimmons was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Alvin Kimmons in 2000.


Survivors include his fianc?, Susan Baxter, Rockmart; two sons: Kody Kimmons and Kyle Kimmons both of Kennesaw; one daughter, Lindsey Kimmons, Acworth; mother, Mary Kimmons, Marietta; two brothers: Troy Kimmons and wife Pam, Dallas and Doug Kimmons and wife Rebecca, Marietta.


Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 10, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Shearin and Rev. Danny Roberson officiating. Interment will follow in the Holly Springs Cemetery.


Pallbearers will include: Troy, Doug, Kody, Kyle and James Kimmons and Mark and Tim Jones.


The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.


The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mr. Alvin Arness Kimmons.
