Anthony Duwayne "Tony" Bishop, Sr.

Mr. Anthony “Tony” Duwayne Bishop, Sr. age 62, of Rockmart, GA, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021.

Tony was born on August 31, 1959 in Rockmart, GA, to his late parents: Esmer B. Bishop and Virginia Annette Roberson Bishop. He lived the greater part of his life in the Rockmart and Aragon area. Mr. Bishop was a proud United States Army Veteran and a member of Euharlee Baptist Church. Tony loved baseball and coaching little league and riding his motorcycle.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Tony “Little Tony” Bishop and brother, Michael Bishop.

Tony is survived by his son, Daryl Joseph “DJ” Bishop (Jocelyn) of Windsor, MO, daughter, Anna Leigh Holmes (Cody), five grandchildren: Connor, Sam, Bentley, Devin and Jake Bishop and two nephews: Mike and Matt Bishop.

Funeral Services for Tony will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Colt Deems officiating. Interment will be held at Georgia National Cemetery at a later date with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: DJ Bishop, Mike Bishop, Matt Bishop, Connor Bishop, Cody Holmes and Jordan Jones.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial donations be made to any cystic fibrosis charity of your choice in loving memory of Tony.
