Bennie (Betty) Botts

Mrs. Bennie (Betty) Botts, age 74, of Creekside Lane Rockmart, GA passed away Saturday, August 27, 2011 in a Rome medical center following a lengthy illness.


She was born in Ellijay, GA on October 19, 1936 a daughter of Benjamin Holden and Rosa Jane Stanley Holden. Mrs. Botts had been a resident of Rockmart for the past fourteen years moving here from Orlando, FL. She was a member of the Eastland Church of God of Orlando, FL and was a former employee of Regal Manufacturing for 25 years.


Mrs. Botts was preceded in death by her parents; by sisters: Dorothy Snow Holden Brookshire, Mary Lois Holden Cochran and Evelyn Holden Garland; and brothers: Earnest Holden, James William Holden, Alonzo Ferman Holden and David Charles Holden.


Survivors include her husband, Charles Benny Botts of Rockmart to whom she was married on February 14, 1973; three children: Anthony Towering and wife Lisa, Waco, TX, Shelia Towering Elliott, Mableton, GA and Holly Lynn Edwards and husband Vince, Rockmart; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three sisters: Shirley Rosa Holden Brooks, Copperhill, TN, Onida Joann Holden McDonald, Rydal, GA and Bobbie Nell Holden Bryson, Loganville, GA. One brother, Grady Floyd Holden, Cumming, GA

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 29, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Pasley officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of Polk Memory Gardens.


Pallbearers will include: Vince Edwards, Chase Edwards, Chance Edwards , Marvin Botts, Scottie Parrott and Jeff Parrott. Ricky Goss will serve as an honorary pallbearer.


The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.


The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mrs. Bennie (Betty) Botts.
