Bertha Pace

Mrs. Bertha Pace, age 85, of 136 Old Cartersville Road, Rockmart passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2009 in a Rome Medical Center.


She was born in Haralson County, GA on February 19, 1924 a daughter of the late Daniel Simpson Carter and Beulah Pope Carter. Mrs. Pace had lived the greater part of her life in the Polk and Paulding County area where she was a member of the Willow Springs Baptist Church. She worked for 28 years in the spinning department of the Goodyear Mill and was last employed by the Huddle House of Rockmart. Mrs. Pace was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Luther Britt Pace, Sr. in December of 1961.


Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Frances Lochridge; three sons: Mr. Luther Pace, Jr., Mr. Hershel Pace and Mr. Hugh Pace all of Rockmart; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Hurley, Dallas; 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.


Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby McDowell officiating. Interment will follow in Rockmart Memorial Gardens.


Pallbearers will include: Dereck Pace, Jeff Pace, Ryan Harrell, Gerald McLarty, Dylan Coffman and Brian Harrell.


The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
