Bertha (Pat) Harper

Mrs. Bertha Mildred (Pat) Harper, age 81, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2017, in a Wellstar Paulding Hospital.

She was born in Lepanta, Arkansas on September 3, 1935 a daughter of the late Bill Boyd and Nervie Harvey Boyd. Mrs. Harper had been a resident of Rockmart for over thirty five years moving here from Michigan. She attended the Second Baptist Church of Rockmart for several years but was presently a member of the Morning View Baptist Church. Mrs. Harper was a self employed auctioneer for many years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Randy Adcock.

Survivors include her husband, James Monroe (Jimmy) Harper, Rockmart; two daughters: Rhonda Asher, Coral Springs, FL and Shelly Warden, Ocean Springs, MS; three sons: Jerry Asher, Pottsville, AR, Billy Asher, Mosher, IL and Terry Asher, Cahokia, IL; brother, Calvin Earl Boyd and wife Margaret, Muscadine, AL; 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and a niece, Paula Swann, Bremen.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 2;00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. David Warriner and Rev. Jeff Hulsey officiating. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Gearl Nichelson, Nic Tomlin, Tim Nichelson, Chris Daniel, Greg Maxwell and Johnathan Post. Honorary pallbearers will include: Donald Lester, Ricky Hulsey and Jerry Richardson.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 9 pm at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.

The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mrs. Bertha Mildred (Pat) Harper.
