Bette H. Phillips

December 9, 1927 — June 17, 2020

Mrs. Bette Holladay Phillips, age 92, of Rockmart, Ga. passed away on June 17, 2020 at her residence in Oxford, Ga.

She was born December 9, 1927 in Polk County, Ga. to Robert and Myrtle Holladay. Mrs.Phillips was a graduate of Rockmart High School and West Georgia College. She was a devout Christian,an involved member at Clairmont Baptist Church for close to 50 years, devoted wife to Wayne Phillips for 68 years, and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Outside of her family, her greatest love was teaching. She retired after teaching Kindergarten for 40 years. Mrs. Phillips was an excellent cook and homemaker, and always filled her home with music that she played on her organ and piano. She enjoyed walking, swimming, watching and feeding birds, and being outdoors. She will be best remembered for her kindness and generosity to everyone she came into contact with.

Mrs. Phillips is survived by her husband, Wayne Phillips, her children Beth Sullivan and her husband David of Oxford, David Phillips and his wife Cindy of Chicago, Teri Gordon and her husband Hugh of Acworth, her grandchildren Seth, Zack, Nicholas, Ryan, Jonathan, Sarah, Rebecca, and her great grandchildren Braiden, Austin, Samuel and David, and her nieces Ann Luther, Wanda Johnson, June Jarkey, and nephew Russell Holladay. She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Myrtle Holladay, her brother Reginald Holladay and her twin brother Billy Holladay.

A private, family graveside memorial service for Mrs. Phillips will be held Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Rose Hill Cemetery. Flowers are welcomed as well as Memorial Donations in the name of Bette Phillips to Abbey Hospice Foundation. P.O Box 68, Social Circle, GA. 30025.
