Betty Akins Bailey

Mrs. Betty Akins Bailey, age 79, of Aragon, GA passed away Thursday, July 2, 2015 at her residence following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Grifffin, GA on July 21, 1935 a daughter of the late Homer Tillery and Edna Mooney Tillery. Mrs. Bailey had been a resident of the Rockmart and Aragon area since 1967. She was a retired employee of the Rockmart-Aragon Hospital and was a member of the Piedmont Avenue Baptist Church. Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by her husband, Kent Sayles Bailey on March 18, 2006.

Survivors include her four daughters: Vickie Maulding, Bonnie Eddy, Robin King and husband Lyman and Lisa Arp and husband Randy all of Aragon; sister, Joan Watson and husband Jim, Chatsworth; six grandsons, seven great grandchildren; niece, Cathy Hooper and nephew, Mike Ridgeway both of Chatsworth.

Graveside funeral and interment services will be held Saturday, July 4, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in Rockmart Memorial Gardens with Rev. John Hooper officiating.

Pallbearers will include: Lee Maulding, Toby Maulding, Chad King, Jeremy King, Briton Cooper and Hayden Arp.

The family will receive friends Saturday July 4th. from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
