Betty Gable

Mrs. Betty Harrrell Gable, age 76, of 414 Wheeler Ford Road, Rockmart, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2008 in a Rome Medical Center following an extended illness.


She was born in Dekalb County, Alabama on April 6, 1932 a daughter of Dewey D. Harrell and Ida Cody Harrell. Mrs. Gable had been a resident of Polk County the greater part of her life and had been a resident of Rockmart since 1997. She was a member of the Youngs Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Max Harrell in 1966.


Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Kay Benton and her husband Steve of Bowden; two grandsons: Mr. Brandon Neil Brown, Buchanan and Mr. Randall Shane Westmoreland of Tallapoosa; two great grandchildren: Katelyn N. Brown and Bailey Brown; one sister, Mrs. Yvonne Wheeler, Rockmart; five brothers: Mr. Bobby Harrell, Mr. James A. Harrell and Mr. Ronnie Harrell all of Cedartown, Mr. Doug Harrrell, Cave Spring and Mr. Larry Harrell, Hiram.


Graveside funeral and interment services will be held Thursday, October 2, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. in the Northview Cemetery of Cedartown with Rev. Robert Wright officiating.


Pallbearers will include: Ted Wheeler, Brandon Neil Brown, Randall Shane Westmoreland, Jeff Harrell, Kim Harrell and Doug Harrell.


The family will receive friends Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at the funeral home.


The family has requested that flowers please be omitted.


The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mrs. Betty Harrell Gable.
