Betty Jenkins Moore

Mrs. Betty Jenkins Moore, age 85, of Rockmart, GA passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016 in a Rome nursing center.

She was born in Polk County, GA on May 8, 1930 a daughter of the late Ross Jenkins and Gertrude Coats Jenkins. Mrs. Moore lived in Rome for many years before moving to Cedar Bluff, AL and returning to Rockmart in 2005. She was a former employee of West Point Pepperell Mill ,was of the Baptist faith and loved fishing, sun bathing and flowers.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Allen (Jack) Moore on December 25, 2010; by a sister, Polly Lemming and by four brothers: Tommy, Ralph, Buddy and Dick Jenkins.

Survivors include a daughter, Faye Weatherby and husband Ronnie, Rome; two sons: Mike Moore and wife Karen, Aragon and Tommy Moore, Rockmart; five grandchildren: Wayne Weatherby (Deborah), Marsha Moore Wilson (David), Jason Moore, Kim Sprayberry (Brandon) and Mitchell Moore; ten great grandchildren: Austin Weatherby, Ashlyn Weatherby, Avery Allen, Elizabeth Allen, McKaiden Moore, Emily Smith, Baeleigh Sprayberry, Katilyn Sprayberry, Karson Moore and Tristan Maulding.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 11, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Jason Moore, Mitchell Moore, Brandon Sprayberry, David Wilson, Larry Lemming, Dennis Lemming and Tony Jenkins. McKaiden Moore and Avery Allen will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Monday from 2 pm until 4 pm at the funeral home.

The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
