Betty Joan Waddell

Mrs. Betty Joan Waddell, age 59, of Cave Spring, GA and formerly of Aragon passed away Friday, April 1, 2016 in a Rome medical center.

She was born in Cedartown, GA on August 23, 1956 a daughter of the late Herschel Brand and Lottie Garrett Brand. Mrs. Waddell had lived the greater part of her life in Aragon where she was a homemaker. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, watching television and listening to music.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Paul Waddell, Sr.; by two daughters: Roshanda Kay Waddell and Lisa Fran Tibbetts; and by two sisters: Jean Summerville and Margie Brand.

Survivors include four daughters: Regina Peek, Rockmart, Marie Kerns (Doug), Silver Creek, Sunday Stephens (Austin), Cave Spring and Paula Lackey (Collin), Rome; three sons: Shane Waddell, Rockmart, Brandon Waddell (Samantha), Rockmart and Jeffery Waddell (Alicia), Rockmart; two sisters: Linda Duke, Rome and Eva Waddell, Cedar Bluff, AL; two brothers: Johnny Brand, Silver Creek and Delane Brand, Jekyll Island; seventeen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, April 3, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Redding officiating.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the memorial at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
