Carol Ann Wright

Ms. Carol Ann Wright, age 64, of Taylorsville Road, Aragon passed away Tuesday June 7, 2011 in a Rome medical center following a lengthy illness.


She was born in Floyd County, GA on February 19, 1947 a daughter of the late Harry Lee Wright, Sr. and Ruth Ellison Wright. Ms. Wright had lived all of her life in Polk County and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rockmart. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Shorter College and later received her Masters Degree in education. Ms. Wright retired from the Polk School District in 1989 following a 19 year career at Eastside Elementary School where she taught first grade. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant sister Rosemary Wright and a sister in law Joyce Wright.

Survivors include three brothers: Edward R. Wright and wife Beatrice, Rome, Harry Wright, Jr., Aragon and Gary Wright and wife Gloria, Rome; niece Jill Myers and husband Scott; great nieces: Jessie and Joy Myers;great nephews, Lee and Justin Myers; nephew, Mike Wright and wife Nancy; great niece, Jennifer Wood; great great niece, Rose Wood; nephew, David Wright and wife Beth, nephew, Greg Wright and wife Rosalyn; great niece and great nephew, Jessica and Jason Wright; nephew, Kenneth Wright and wife Shalena; great niece, Whitney Wright.


Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 9, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Rockmart with Dr. Greg Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the Aragon Cemetery.


Pallbearers will include: Michael Wright, David Wright, Greg Wright, Kenneth Wright, Scott Myers and Hayden Garrett.


The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home and at other hours may be contacted at the residence of a brother, Harry Wright, Jr., 4676 Rome Highway, Aragon, GA.
