Charles William (Billy) Combs, Jr.

Mr. Charles William (Billy) Combs, Jr., age 58, of Lindale, GA and formerly of Aragon passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013 in a Rome medical center.

He was born October 15, 1954 a son of the late Charles William Combs, Sr. and Mary Emily Shell Combs. Billy had lived the greater part of his life in Aragon, was of the Baptist faith and had been employed by the City of Aragon as a Supervisor in the Public Works Department for a number of years. He was a member of the Davitte Lodge # 513 F. & A.M.. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a step son, Dusty Rogers and by two sisters: Emily Combs and Julianne Combs.

Survivors include a daughter, Meshell Combs, Aragon; two sons: Chad Combs, Cartersville and Robert Combs and his wife Brandy, Lindale; former wife, Paula Johnson, Conyers; three step sons: Timmy Johnson, Conyers, Chris Medlin, Conyers and Jessie Rogers, Rockmart; one brother, Johnny Combs, Aragon; one sister, Hariette Garner, Cumming; ten grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Aragon Baptist Church with Rev. Stevie Waddell and Rev. Mark Deems officiating. Interment will follow in the Aragon Cemetery with the West Georgia Masonic Memorial Club in charge of Masonic Graveside Rites.

Pallbearers will include: Chris Evans, Dale Ballew, Ricky Ballew, Wade Clemons, Shane Lindsey, Scott Davis, Keith Rainey and John Pope.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
