Clifford Beck

Mr. Clifford Beck, age 82, of North Bellview Road Rockmart, GA passed away suddenly Saturday, March 17, 2012.

He was born in Cedartown, GA on March 15, 1930 a son of the late Floyd Beck and Lucille Hackney Beck. Mr. Beck had lived all of his life in Polk County and was a retired employee of the General Motors Company having worked in the Doraville Assembly Plant. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, was of the Baptist faith and loved to work in his garden. In earlier years he loved to fish and hunt. Mr. Beck was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Beck.

Survivors include his wife of fifty eight years, Mrs. Wilma Jean Beck, Rockmart to whom he was married on December 19, 1953; daughter, Connie Bell, Rockmart; three sons: Dwight Beck, Rockmart, Reb Beck, Rockmart and Michael Beck, Rome; 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. John Hooper officiating. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens with Brown-Wright Post # 12 of the American Legion in charge of military graveside rites.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and include: Craig Beck, Damien Beck, Marlon Morales, Matthew Bell, Jason Bell, Stephen Bell and Andrew Bell.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
