Clyde Allen Moore

June 28, 1929 — December 25, 2010

Mr. Clyde Allen (Jack) Moore, age 81, of North Bellview Road, Aragon passed away Saturday, December 25, 2010 in a Rome Medical Center following a lengthy illness.


He was born in Polk County, GA on June 28, 1929 a son of Price Moore and Gertrude Camp Moore. Mr. Moore had lived the greater part of his life in Rome where he was employed by West Point Pepperell Manufacturing Company. He retired following 25 years of service. Following his retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Moore made their home on Lake Weis in Alabama before returning to Polk County five years ago. He was of the Baptist faith.


Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his parents and by four brothers: Royce Moore, Ralph (Blue) Moore, James (Tooney) Moore and Harold Moore.


Survivors include his wife, Betty Jenkins Moore, Rockmart to whom he was married on February 19, 1949; one daughter, Faye Weatherby and husband Ronnie, Rome; two sons: Mike Moore and wife Karen, Aragon and Tommy Moore, Rockmart; three brothers: J. B. Moore, Snyder, TX, Jerry Moore, Cave Spring and Doyce Moore, Cedartown; five sisters: Dot Abney, Rome, Barbara Morgan, Rome, Mary Jones, Cave Spring. Bessie Hartley, Cedartown and Glenda Wood, Cedartown; five grandchildren: Wayne Weatherby and wife Deborah, Marsha Moore, Jason Moore, Kim Sprayberry and husband Brandon, and Mitchell Moore; eight great grandchildren: Austin Weatherby, Ashlyn Weatherby, Avery Allen, Elizabeth Allen, McKaiden Moore, Emily Smith, Baeleigh Sprayberry and Katilyn Sprayberry.


Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Euharlee Baptist Church with Rev. Steven Moore, Rev. Ralph Jenkins and Rev. Raymond Cook, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery.


Pallbearers will include: Brandon Sprayberry, Mitchell Moore, Austin Weatherby, Wayne Weatherby, Todd Jenkins, Larry Lemming and Den Lemming. Honorary pallbearers will include: Avery Allen and McKaiden Moore.


The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.


The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mr. Clyde Allen (Jack) Moore.
