Danny Marshall Burns

Mr. Danny Marshall Burns, age 58, of Taylorsville, GA passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012 in a Rome medical center following a three year illness.

Danny was born in Cartersville, GA on August 14, 1953 a son of John I. Burns and Carol Searcy Burns. He was a graduate of Cartersville High School and had lived in the Taylorsville area for the past thirty years. Mr. Burns had been employed by the Georgia power Company for 40 years and at the time of his illness was a Senior Store Keeper at Plant Bowen. He had been a member of the Executive Board of IBEW Local 84 for twenty five years. Danny was a member of the Live Oak Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, John I. Burns.

Survivors include his wife, Vickie Burns to whom he was married on July 21, 1979; two sons: Jonathan Burns and wife Nicole and Jeffrey Burns; two granddaughters: Ansley and Avery Burns all of Taylorsville; Mother, Carol Burns Watts and husband Roland, Cartersville; two brothers: David Maxwell Burns and wife Joan, Rome and John Timothy Burns and wife Beth, Cartersville; mother in law, Wilma Yarborough, Aragon. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 25, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. in the Live Oak Baptist Church with Rev. Anthony Osborne and Rev. Don Spears officiating. Interment will follow in the Live Oak Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Stevie Waddell officiating.

Pallbearers will include: Joe Land, Tim Burns, Jonathan Burns, Jeffery Burns, Eric Brumbelow and Kyle Sargent.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
