Dorothy Ann Lewis

Mrs. Dorothy Ann Lewis, age 74, of 15 East Fourth Street, Aragon passed away Monday, December 29, 2008 following an illness of several months.


She was born in Findlay, Ohio on November 13, 1934 a daughter of the late Roy Peterman and Miriam Wiseley Peterman. Mrs. Lewis had been a resident of Georgia since 1975 moving here from Ohio. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Jack Dale Lewis, Sr. on February 11, 2007; by a son, Jimmie Lewis in 1999 and by a granddaughter Amanda Lewis in 1983.


Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Cindy Lewis Smith, Cartersville; three sons: Mr. Jack D. Lewis, Jr, Rockmart, Mr. Bobby Joe Lewis, Aragon and Mr. Roy A. Lewis, Aragon; 7 grandchildren and one great grandson also survive.


Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 4:30 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Harvae Hendricks officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethel Crossroads Cemetery.


Pallbearers will include: Adam Lewis, Joseph Lewis, Zackery Lewis, Benjamin Lewis and Paden Smith.


The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 3:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
