E.J. Cardin

Mr. E. J. Cardin, age 81, of 126 Trentwood Place N.W. Rome, GA passed away Thursday, November 7, 2013 in a Rome medical center.

He was born on February 20, 1932 a son of the late Thomas Cornelius Cardin and Agnes Christine Swanson Cardin. Mr. Cardin had lived the greater part of his life in Rome where he was a member of the Church of Christ. He was a retired piano tuner. Mr. Cardin was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Ridgeway Cardin of Rome to whom he was married on July 28, 1951; three daughters: Deborah Sue Cardin Rogers and Kenneth , Centre, AL, Shirley Lynn Cardin and Lee Clouse, Rome and Christy Meshel Cardin Wyatt and Quillian, Rome; eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave., Rome, GA with Minister Steve Price officiating.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at Good Shepherd Funeral Home.

In lieu of Flowers the family has requested that memorials be made in Mr. Cardins memory to the American Diabetes Association, the American Cancer Society or the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home in cooperation with Good Shepherd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Mr. E. J. Cardin.
