Elizabeth Ann Woodward

Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Woodward, age 73, of 58 Oak Street Aragon, GA passed away Friday, April 15, 2011 in Cedar Hill Assisted Living Home, Cedartown, GA following a brief illness.


She was born in Aragon, GA on November 15, 1937 a daughter of Jake L. Hicks and Lillian Ingle Hicks. Mrs. Woodward had lived the greater part of her life in the Beulah Community of Paulding County where she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Woodward was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. James Wayne Woodward on February 17, 1995. She was also preceded in death by her father, Jake L. Hicks, her step father, Harvey Gore , her mother, Lillian Ingle Hicks Gore , a step brother, Bobby Joe Gore and a step sister, Glenda Gore Wolfe.

Survivors include her three children: Doyal Wayne Woodward and wife Cindy, Rockmart, Darrell Keith Woodward and wife Rhonda, Cedartown and Delphia (Dale) Beavers and husband Chuck, Rockmart; six grandchildren: Nicole Rives, Christy Rives, Emily Beavers, James Beavers, Luke Woodward and Rachel Morton; God daughter, JoAnn Rackley Elsberry;God granddaughter, Brandy Hicks Rosh; two sisters in law: Faye Woodward Mosley and Barbara Woodward Bradley of the Beulah Community; one step sister in law, Myrtle Carroll Potts, also of the Beulah Community; niece, Judy Mosley Hayes and one nephew, Ricky Bradley.


Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 17, 2011 at 2:00 p.m.in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Dabbs and Rev. Andy Fennell officiating. Interment will follow in the Beulahland Baptist Church Cemetery.


Pallbearers will include: Jimmy Hayes, Joey Williams, Van Rice, Arnold Cook, John Beavers , Tommy Hicks, Ronnie Campbell and Jerry Dabbs. The Antioch Baptist Church Ladies Sunday School Class will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.


The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.


The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Woodward.
