Ethel (Pat) South

Mrs. Ethel (Pat) South, age 82, of 31 Springdale Road, Rockmart passed away Thursday, April 17th. in the local nursing center following a lengthy illness.


She was born in Cedartown, GA on February 7, 1926 a daughter of the late William Hlousek and Rosa Busby Hlousek. Mrs. South had lived the greater part of her life in Rockmart and was of the Baptist faith. She was a former employee of Kentucky Fried Chicken and the Goodyear Mill. Prior to her ill health she was actively involved in community service. Mrs. South was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Robert Lowell South and by a daughter, Andrea D. Patzkowski.


Survivors include four daughters: Mrs. Sandra Kay Burke, Powder Springs, Mrs. Connie Cramer, Hapeville, Mrs. Reba Forrister, Rockmart and Mrs. Deborah Turner, Aragon; one sister, Mrs. Rosa Simpson, Powder Springs; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.


Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 19th at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Minister Alvis Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.


Pallbearers will include: Jerry Cramer, Jr., Travis Forrister, Adam Turner, Jeff Adkins, Wally Tyson and Bobby Carter.


The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
