Fronnie Mae Brown

Mrs. Fronnie Mae Brown, age 69, of Browning Road Rockmart passed away Thursday, September 30, 2010 in Erlanger Medical Center, Chattanooga, TN following a brief illness.


Mrs. Brown was born in Polk County, GA on September 26, 1941 a daughter of the late Johnny G. Dyer and Odie Mae Lewis Dyer. She had lived all of her life in the Rockmart area where she was a 1959 graduate of Rockmart High School and a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She had worked as as a Poll officer for the Browning Precinct of Polk County for 40 years. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Jackson ?Jackie? Brown on June 8, 1993; by a son, Chris Brown on October 16, 2009; and by two sisters: Idell Dyer on January 6, 2007 and Mozelle McBurnett on December 14, 2008.


Survivors include a daughter, Tina B. Williams and husband Mark; a son, Tony B. Brown and wife Jolie, all of Rockmart; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren; one brother, Melvin Dyer, Rockmart; special niece, Pam Garrett, Rockmart and a number of additional nieces and nephews.


Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 3, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Dyer, Rev. Roger Parris and Rev. Hoyt Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.


Mrs. Brown will lie instate from 2:30 p.m. until the funeral hour at the church on Sunday.


Pallbearers will include: Tony Brown, Timmy Brookshire, Irvin Austin, Mitch Williams, John Hood and Derrick Vandervoet. Ronnie Dyer will serve as an honorary pallbearer.


The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
