George William Wallace

Mr. George William Wallace, age 82 of Centre, Al and formerly of Cedartown, GA, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2013.

Mr. Wallace was born on October 13, 1930 in Polk County, GA, the son of the late Guy William Wallace and the late Alma Garrett Wallace. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Gloria Collier Wallace.
He was a United States Veteran proudly serving with the U.S. Navy. He retired with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 3. He also worked for the Polk School District as a Supervisor in the Maintenance Department until his retirement with the district. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cedar Bluff.

Mr. Wallace is survived by his wife; Eleanor Wallace, his son and daughter in law; Steve and Debbie Wallace, his daughter and son in law; Becky and Charles Ferguson, Jr., step sons; David and Patty Vann, George and Pamela Vann, Billy Wayne and Renee Vann, a sister; Betty Sue Parsons, his grandchildren; Julie Reece, Jenny Ferguson Ward and Brian Wallace, ten great grandchildren, eleven step grandchildren and a number of step great grandchildren. A number of nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. George William Wallace will be conducted on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. from the Chapel of the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home with the Rev. Neil Brown and Rev. Mark Cosby officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery with full military honors being conducted by the United States Navy Honor Detail.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at the Litesey Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be the following Gentlemen; Joe Collier, Terry Collier, David Collier, Jerry Collier, Adam Reece and Brian Wallace. Honorary Pallbearer Henry Brown.

The family respectfully ask the flowers please be omitted and memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011
