Mr. Harry W. Beatty, age 80, of Rockmart, GA passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at his residence.

He was born on August 6, 1939, a son of the late Wilburn C. Beatty and the late Maude Gates Beatty. Mr. Beatty had lived all of his life in Polk County and retired from Engineered Fabrics following a thirty six year career. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving from 1962 until 1965 during the Vietnam War. Mr. Beatty had a great love for his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Mattie Sanford; two brothers: Jerry Beatty and Guy Beatty; and by a sister, Nina Jacobs.

Survivors include his five daughters: Lisa Beatty, Sandra Bailey, Stacey Beatty, Gloria Sanford and her husband, Forrest and Amanda Brackett and her husband, James; ten grandchildren: Megan, Jesse, Alec, Ashley, Bridgett, Jonathan, Cobie, Tessa, Carson and Emma; 3 great grandchildren: Bailey, Skyland and Chevy; two sisters: Joy Simcox and Jane Stringer; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 7, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with his daughter, Lisa Beatty delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery with Brown-Wright Post #12 American Legion Honor Guard in charge of military graveside rites.

Pallbearers will include: Jonathan Sanford, Alec Bailey, Cobie Beatty, David Lipham, Casey Blackman and Spencer Huth.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 12 noon until the funeral hour at the funeral home.

The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mr. Harry W. Beatty.
