Harry Wayne (Sonny) Stegall

Mr. Harry Wayne (Sonny) Stegall, age 64, of 24 Fourth Street, Aragon passed away suddenly Saturday, March 22nd at his residence.


He was born in Polk county, GA on November 25, 1943 a son of the late Harry Stegall and the late Ruby Lanham Stegall. Mr. Stegall had lived the greater part of his life in the Aragon and Rockmart area and was a retired employee of General Motors having worked in the Lakewood Assembly Plant in Atlanta and the Shreveport, Louisiana Assembly Plant. He was a member of UAW Local 34. Mr. Stegall was of the Baptist faith.


He is survived by his companion, Ms Teresa Callahan, Aragon; two sons: Mr. Tim Colston, McEwen, TN and Mr. Terry Colston, Cornelia, GA;daughter, Mrs. Tammy Sanders, Aragon; step mother, Mrs. Essie Mae Stegall, Rockmart; one brother, Mr. Tony Stegall, Dallas, GA; two half brothers: Mr. Winfred Stegall, Silver Creek and Mr. Todd Stegall, Rockmart; two step brothers: Mr. Joey Wingo, Rockmart and Mr. Stevie Wingo, Rockmart; three step sisters: Mrs. Lisa Rutledge, Cedartown, Mrs. Kathy Lindsey, Rockmart and Mrs. Pam Leatherwood, Marietta; 10 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.


Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 25th at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Donnie Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in Rockmart Memorial Gardens.


Pallbearers will include: Wendell Cochran, Dutch Matthews, Jeff Stegall, Barry Keown, Shorty Austin and Chuck Hilliard.


The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
