Mrs. Helen Dunn, age 81, of Rockmart, GA passed away Saturday, March 26, 2106 at her residence.

She was born in Rockmart, GA on July 21, 1934 a daughter of the late William Thomas Maddox and Myrtle Lou Crab Maddox. Mrs. Dunn had lived the greater part of her life in Polk County where she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Glory Road Baptist Church, enjoyed trips to the mountains, spending time with her family and watching television.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Dunn on June 26, 2008; by four brothers: Cecil Maddox, Sherman Maddox, Herman Maddox and Paul Davis; by three sisters: Susie Sorrells, Jossie Dunn and Mavis Haney; by a niece, Sherrie Lynn Harris and by a nephew, Ronnie Dunn.

Survivors include a daughter, Elaine Dunn, Rockmart; a son, Danny Dunn, Aragon; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two sisters: Marrillah M. Parish and her husband James Phillip Parish, Sr., Covington and Jimmie Lynn Truett and her husband B.J. Truett, Cedartown; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Shoemaker and Rev. Danny Dunn officiating. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: William Dunn, Tristan Lowery, Scooter (John Henry) Lackey, Lee Lowery, J.R. Haney, Vernon Bell, Maurice Hicks, Tony Hamby, Evan Brown and Joe Dunn.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
