Homer Franklin Lee

Mr. Homer Franklin Lee, age 85, of Rockmart passed away Monday, January 27, 2014 in a Rome medical center.

He was born in Bartow County, Georgia on August 18, 1928 a son of the late Grady Virgil Lee, Sr. and Sara Hovers Lee. Mr. Lee had lived the greater part of his life in Polk County where he was a member of the Lake View Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had been an employee of Lockheed Martin Aircraft Corporation retiring in 1986. Mr. Lee was preceded in death by brothers: John Willie Lee and Grady Virgil Lee Jr. and by sisters: Lelia Garrett, Laura Davidson, Nellie Williams and Catherine Gaddy.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Lee of Rockmart to whom he was married on August 18, 1956; daughter, Marlene Blackthorne, Rockmart; son, Robert Lee, Rockmart; sisters: Annette Davidson, Rockmart and Myrtle Garrett, Aragon; brother, Billy Lee, Rockmart; four grandchildren: Jessica Lee, Chris and Michael Steele, and Jonathan Williamson; two great grandchildren: Ava Steele and Payton Cooper.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the Lake View Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Davidson, Rev. Eddy Hughes and Rev. Jeff Hulsey officiating. Interment will follow in the Morning View Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will include: Chris Steele, Mike Warnick, Lamar Lee, Rodney Hutcheson, Duane Davidson, Jonathan Williams, Dale Lee, Larry Garrett and Glen Lee. Honorary pallbearers will include: Jessica Lee, Brenda Warnick, Legail Lee, Elania Steele, Jimmy Davidson, Clint Hutcheson and Angie Hutcheson.

The family will receive friends Friday evening between the hours of 6 and 9 p.m, at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.

The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mr. Homer Franklin Lee.
