James E. White

Mr. James E. White, age 79, of Cedartown, GA passed away Friday, October 25, 2019 at his residence following a two month illness.

Mr. White was born in the Hightower Falls area of Polk County on March 19, 1940 a son of Clarence Emmett White and Sarah Estelle Grimes White.

He had been a resident of Polk County since 1972 returning here from Floyd County. He was a retired employee of Mohawk Industries and was a member of the Calvary Holiness Church of Aragon. Mr. White loved working in his garden.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers: John William White, Sr. and Harry Thomas White; and by sisters: Kathy Cantrell, Opal Benefield, Alma Rice, Michelle Baird and Jeanette Worsham.

Survivors include sons: Britt Earwood and Michael White; daughters: Stephanie Garrison and Daphine Wynne; sisters: Jackie Horton, Ann Goss, Kay McCarley and Leatha Oakes; brother, Willis White; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 27, 2019 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Michael S. Edwards and Rev. Tim Rice officiating. Interment will follow in the Aragon Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Wade Usher, Spencer Earwood, Matt Edwards, Jacob Earwood, John White, Jr. and Barry Garrison. Honorary pallbearers will include: Justin Gorley, Ted Swann, Terry Middlebrooks and Douglas Edwards.

The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1:00 pm until the funeral hour at the funeral home.

The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of funeral arrangements for Mr. James E. White.
