James Gavin Statham

Gavin Statham, age 16, of Rockmart, GA, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2022 after a courageous battle against an extended illness.

Gavin was born on March 9, 2006 in Cartersville, GA, to his loving parents: Kevin Statham and Alecia Haney Statham. Gavin lived all his life in Rockmart, GA. He loved golf, UGA football and was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He also enjoyed video games. He was known for his kind soul and loved others tremendously. Gavin was a loving son, twin brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend who will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

Gavin was preceded in death by his grandfather, James “Hammer” Haney.

He is survived by his father, Kevin Statham; mother, Alecia Statham (Chuck Tinsley); twin sister, Grace Statham; grandparents: Mike Statham, Judy Haney and Gail Reynolds; two aunts: April Forsyth (Danny) and Kim Willamon (Mitch) and several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.

Funeral Services for Mr. Gavin Statham will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 4:00 PM in the Rockmart High School Gymnasium with Rev. Colt Deems officiating and eulogies given by Kristie Hunt, Christi Willliford and John Williford . A private interment service will follow.

Serving as pallbearers will be the following gentlemen: Nicholas Forsyth, Braedyn Roberson, Jayton Waddell, Maddox Lisk, Andrew Posey, Kaden Grogan and Brayden Pope.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Lucas Swan, Konnor Swan and The Rockmart High School Class of 2024.

The family will receive friends in the Rockmart High School Gymnasium on Saturday, June 4, 2022 from 2:00 PM until the service hour at 4:00 PM.
