Jimmy David Moore

Mr. Jimmy David Moore, age 75, of Rockmart, GA passed away Friday, January 2, 2015 at his residence.

He was born in Aragon, GA on April, 30 1939, a son of the late Jesse Bryon Moore and the late Minnie Goddard Moore. He had lived all of his life in the Rockmart area where he was a 1958 graduate of Rockmart High School. He retired from Dallas Yarns as plant manager after many years of service. Mr. Moore was an avid fisherman, loved to work in his yard, loved to garden and was a fan of Braves baseball. He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his two sisters: Ruth Lindsey and Myrtle Phillips; and brother, Charles Moore.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Smith Moore of Rockmart to whom he was married on May 31, 1958; five children: Donna Robbins, Rockmart, David Moore and his wife Lynn, Rockmart, Teresa Dawson and her husband Chuck, Rockmart, Leslia McDowell and her husband Jimmy, Rockmart and Jennifer Deaton and her husband Lee, Aragon; twelve grandchildren; five great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 5, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Jerome Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Aragon Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Joshua Deaton, Brady Deaton, Dylan Robbins, Lee Deaton, Jimmy Levi Dawson and Michael Pope. Honorary pallbearers will include: Roy Cagle, Clay Ferguson, Jimmy McDowell, Gary Cannon, Phil Akins, Gary Camp, Whitt Dunn, Gerald White and Keith Barber.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
