Johnny Yarbrough

Mr. Johnny Yarbrough, age 79, of Aragon, GA passed away Monday, July 28, 2014.

He was born in Aragon, GA on May 2, 1935 a son of the late Albert M. Yarbrough, Sr. and Betty Irene Caldwell Yarbrough. Mr. Yarbrough had lived all of his life in Polk County where he was a member of the Live Oak Baptist Church. He was a self employed tile setter for over forty years and was a veteran of the United States Navy.

Mr. Yarbrough was preceded in death by his wife, Patty Yarbrough on November 1, 2006, by a daughter, Robin Womack, by two step sons: Michael Brooks and Tony Brooks, by a step granddaughter, Autumn Hembree; by four brothers: Albert M. Yarbrough, Jr., Carl Yarbrough, J.P. Yarbrough and Glenn Yarbrough and by five sisters: Frances Yarbrough, Geneva Yarbrough, Margaret Yarbrough, Velma Durham and Mildred Warren.

Survivors include three sons: Ricky Yarbrough, McRae, GA, Rodney Yarbrough, Cedartown and Ronald Yarbrough, Cave Spring; daughter, Cathy Cross, Dalton; two step daughters: Suzzette Hembree, Aragon and Jill Grace, Aragon; sister, Martha Kell, Douglasville; two brothers: Talmadge Yarbrough, Mt.Zion, GA and Melvin Yarbrough, Rockmart; nine grandchildren, four step grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Bell officiating. Interment will follow in the Live Oak Baptist Church Cemetery with Brown-Wright Post #12 of the American Legion in charge of military graveside rites.

Pallbearers will include: James (Cooter) Carter, Travis Yarbrough, Chris Chastain, Paul Sherman, Michelle Brooks, Adam Grace and Tyler LeCroy. Honorary pallbearers will include: Red Hand, Michael Sherman, Dylan LeCroy, Jennifer Sherman and Mandy Brooks Chastain.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 9 PM at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
