Katherine Mccain

Mrs. Katherine L. McCain, age 94, of Rome, GA passed away Sunday, June 14, 2015 in a Rome nursing center.

She was born in Rome, GA on October 29, 1920 a daughter of the late Finley Shelton and Ruth Terrell Shelton. Mrs. McCain had lived her entire life in Floyd County where she was a former employee of Keepsake Carpet Co. She was a former member of the Mt Alto Baptist Church and was presently a member of the Riverside Baptist Church and the Sophie Sunday School Class. Mrs. McCain had also been a member of the Celanese Club.

In addition to her father and mother she was preceded in death by her husband, John David McCain on December 28, 1985; by her step mother, Nell Shelton and a brother, Robert (Bob) Shelton.

Survivors include a son, David McCain, Cartersville; daughter, Janice Henderson and her husband John, Rome; brother, John Shelton, Woodstock; eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren. four great-great grandchildren and several cousins.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 12:00 noon in the Riverside Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Lambert and Rev. Gary Graves officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00 am until the funeral hour at the Riverside Baptist Church.
