Larry Charles Williams

Mr. Larry Charles Williams, age 73, of Rockmart, GA passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021.

Mr. Williams was born in Rome, GA on April 25, 1947, a son of the late Charles Arthur Williams and the late Sara Godfrey Williams. Larry had lived the greater part of his life in Rockmart where he was a graduate of Rockmart High School. After graduating high school, Larry attended West Georgia College. He then joined the United States Army where he served during the Vietnam War. Larry was a proud veteran and was a recipient of the Bronze Star. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved baseball, football, riding motorcycles and Polaris Razors, fishing, and spending time at the beach with his family. Larry was a big Rockmart High School athletic supporter who will be missed by Jacket Nation. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church and was retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad.

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Faye Smith Williams of Rockmart; daughter, Tara Frasier, Rockmart; son, Josh Williams, Charleston, TN; grandchildren: Whitney Frasier, Sarah Beth Frasier, and Jemma Williams; brother, Ronnie Williams and his wife, Cathy Jo, Summerville; nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Victory Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Snapp officiating and the eulogy given by his son, Josh Williams. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery with Brown-Wright Post #12 American Legion Honor Guard in charge of military graveside rites.

Pallbearers will include: Doyce Moore, Robert Abernathy, Matt Wilson, Sonny York, John Purser, and Garlin Gamel. Honorary pallbearers will include: Ken Snyder, Bob Morris, Tim Wiggins, Lamar Owens, Mike Hester, Royce Turner, Barry Gore, Phil Statham, Red Forsyth, Dennis Matthews and Chris Carroll.

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 11:00 am until the funeral hour at Victory Baptist Church. Social distancing guidelines will be followed and masks are recommended.

The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements for Mr. Larry Charles Williams.
