Lola Ann Martin Harp

September 7, 1950 — September 17, 2017

Mrs. Lola Ann Martin Harp, age 67, of Taylorsville, GA, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 17, 2017 in a Rome medical center.

Mrs. Harp was born in Euharlee, GA on September 7, 1950, a daughter of the late James Franklin Martin, Sr. and the late Bertha Miller Martin. She lived the greater part of her life in Taylorsville, where she was a member of the Floyd Creek Baptist Church. Lola was a beautiful woman in every way. She was open hearted and kind to everyone she met, willing to help in any way. She was a faithful and devoted wife and mother, always there to help and support, no matter the situation. Lola worked in the factory industry in her early years. As she started her family, she moved to the florist industry where she became well rounded in flower arranging. She later had her own house cleaning business and cared for the elderly, which she loved to do. Out of all the jobs she had in her many years, this one seemed to fit her best because of her willingness to help others in any way she could. One of Lola's greatest loves was spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Harp was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Martin and a sister, Mary McAllister.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and David Moore and her son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Wendy Harp; eight grandchildren: Christopher and Augusta Parks, Alicia Pope, Brittany Moore, Dylan, Kelsey, Maddie Ann and Alli Harp; five great-grandchildren: Landon, Hunter, Destiny Emma, Carter and Stella; three brothers: Ralph, Donnie and Mack Martin; two sisters: Louise Brawner and Margaret Karakoras; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 PM at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Floyd Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Bennett officiating. Eulogies will be given by Kelsey Harp, Augusta Parks and Lynn Moore. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Harp will lie in state at the Floyd Creek Baptist Church on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour.

Pallbearers will include: Wayne Harp, David Moore, Jason Martin, Mack Martin, Jr., Michael Pope and John Harris.

The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mrs. Lola Ann Martin Harp.
