Mable Johns Hill

Mrs. Mable Johns Hill, age 91, of Rockmart, GA passed away Saturday, December 5, 2015.

She was born in Cullman, AL on January 1, 1924, a daughter of the late James William Johns and Tinsey Pauline Morris Johns. Mrs. Hill lived 26 years in Villa Rica, GA before moving to Rockmart in 1998. She spent her working career with the Atlanta Journal where she retired after many years of service. Mrs. Hill had a love for dance. She was of the Jehovah Witness faith.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Earl Hill; daughter in law, Mary Hill; brother, Buford Johns; and two sisters: Kitty Pridgen and Opal Long.

Survivors include her son, James Hill, Rockmart; step daughter, Rita Traffanstedt, AL; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; sister, Verda Rasco, Hoover, AL; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Brother Glenn Phillips officiating.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 12 noon until the memorial hour at the funeral home.
