Margie Ingram Sloan

Mrs. Margie Ingram Sloan, age 77, of 60 Crayton Road Rockmart passed away Saturday October 17, 2009 in Redmond Regional Medical Center following several years of declining health.


She was born in Polk County, GA on February 29, 1932 a daughter of William Darnell Ingram and Blonnie King Ingram. Mrs. Sloan had been a resident of Polk County the greater part of her life and was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Rockmart. She was a graduate of the Massey Business College of Atlanta, a former Licensed Practical Nurse and a former beautician.


She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward Sloan; a granddaughter, Stephanie Wilmot Reeves and by six brothers and sisters: Gertrude Ingram, Raymond Ingram, Donald Ingram, Reece Ingram, Dorothy Hastings and Forrest Ingram.


Survivors include two daughters: Charlene Kay, Rockmart and Karen (Kay) Hitchcock Baxter, Acworth; one great grandson, Andrew Wilmot and one great granddaughter, Kristin Reeves; one sister, Ann Hutcheson, Rockmart; two brothers: Harold Ingram, Kennesaw and Buell Ingram, Rockmart; a special nephew, Randy Lee, Cedartown and 26 additional nieces and nephews also survive.


Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. in the Second Baptist Church of Rockmart with Rev. David Warriner officiating and Mr. Nat Long delivering a eulogy. Interment will follow in Rockmart Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will include: Thomas, Bill, Sam, Chris, Michael and Gary Ingram, Rich Hastings and Bob Mahlik. Brothers and sister will serve as honorary pallbearers: Harold Ingram, Buell Ingram and Ann Hutcheson.


The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.


Flowers will be accepted or those desiring may make memorial gifts in memory of Mrs. Sloan?s granddaughter, Stephanie Wilmot Reeves to the Lupus Foundation, 1850 Lake Park Dr. Smyrna, GA 30080.
