Mary Florine Engram

Mrs. Mary Florine Engram, age 72, of Rockmart, GA, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021.

She was born on April 10, 1949 in Atlanta, GA, to her late parents; George Lanning and Helen Crawford Lanning. Mrs. Engram spent her early adult life in Monroe, GA and also many years in Paulding County, GA, before moving to Polk County 6 years ago. While living in Monroe GA, she attended Monroe Congregational Holiness Church and later attended The Refuge when she lived in Polk County. Mary was retired from Shaw Industries. In her free time, she very much enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her precious grandbabies. Mrs. Engram was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Lanning.

Mrs. Engram is survived by her loving children: Vickie Alvey and her husband, Chris of Rockmart, GA, Rhonda Newman and her husband, Andy of Aken, SC, David Engram of Douglasville, GA, 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 1 great-grandson on the way that is due in January, brother, George Lanning and his wife, Donna of Hiram, GA, sisters-in-law: Joyce Lanning of Carrolton, GA, Merita Shaffer of Carrollton, GA, and Betty Ann Michael of Monroe, GA. A number of nieces and nephews also survive her.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Mary Engram will be held on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at 2:00 PM at The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Henry Swofford officiating. In keeping with Mrs. Engrams wishes, her body will be cremated after the funeral service.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the following gentlemen: Justin Forrister, Caleb Hannah, Andrew Newman and Matthew Newman.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, August 15, 2021 from 12:00 PM until the service begins at 2:00 PM.
