Mattie Ratcliff

Ms. Mattie Ratcliff, age 84, of Rockmart, GA passed away Monday, September 1, 2014 at her residence.

She was born in Cherokee County, GA on April 29, 1930 a daughter of Thomas Ratcliff and Katie Childers Ratcliff. Ms. Ratcliff had the lived the greater part of her life in Rockmart where she was a former employee of Rockmart Manufacturing Company. She was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by seven sisters and three brothers.

Survivors include two sisters: Ethel Williams, Rockmart and Thelma Self, Woodstock. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Hoyt Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Joe Garmon, Joey Garmon, Pete Chastain, Kenny Dodd, Marshall Thaxton and Robbie Wilkes. Honorary pallbearers will include Ed Pharo and Evan Ratcliff.

The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
