Maudie Hines

Mrs. Maudie Bramlett Hines, age 82, of 265 Bramlett Road Rockmart passed away Friday, February 18, 2011 at her residence following a lengthy illness.


She was born in Gordon County, GA on February 15, 1929 a daughter of the late Charles E. Bramlett and Suelane Thacker Bramlett. Mrs. Hines had lived all of her life in Rockmart where she was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church. She retired from the Goodyear Mill with 40 years of service. Mrs. Hines was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jane Hines Williams on December 1, 1966 and by her husband, Mr. Walter Douglas Hines on May 12, 1981.


Survivors include a daughter, Susan Ferguson and husband Steve, Rockmart; sons: Wayne Hines and wife Bonnie, Buchanan and Ricky Hines and wife Yvonne, Cedartown; brother, Jack Bramlett, Aragon; sisters: Betty Jo Fennell, Rockmart and Sue Knight, Cedartown; six grandchildren: Hope Hulsey and husband Denver, Misti Freeman and husband Jason, Holly Caldwell and husband Travis, Blake Ferguson and wife Missy, Raine Hines and Dylan Hines; six great granddaughters also survive.


Funeral services will be held Monday, February 21, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Dr. Larry Davis officiating and a eulogy by a grandson Blake Ferguson. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery.


Pallbearers will include: Blake Ferguson, Travis Caldwell, Denver Hulsey, Jason Freeman, Raine Hines and Dylan Hines.


The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.


The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
