Michael Dewayne Hayes

Mr. Michael Dewayne Hayes, age 56, of 1912 Old Cedartown Road Cedartown, GA passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014 in a Rome medical center.

He was born in Rockmart, GA on December 28, 1957 a son of Thomas J. Hayes and Elizabeth McDonald Hayes and had lived all of his life in Polk County. Mr. Hayes was a member of the Benedict Baptist Church of Cedartown and was a self employed drywall contractor. He was preceded in death by his father on May 27, 2013.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Hayes of Cedartown to whom he was married on January 24, 2004; six step children: Connie Robinson of Alabama, Shannon, Easterwood, Cedartown, Carl Bailey, Jr., Rockmart, Jason Bailey, Rockmart, Richard Bailey, Rockmart and Mamie Harris, Cedartown; mother and step father: Elizabeth and Carl Maulding, Rockmart; two sisters: Deborah Sorrells, Rockmart and Rhonda Williams, Rockmart; two brothers: Lamar Hayes, Rockmart and Ricky Hayes, Rockmart; a number of step grandchildren also survive.

Memorial services will be held Monday, June 30, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Dunn, John Redding and Joe Redding officiating.

The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the memorial hour at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
