Mozelle Dyer Mcburnett

Mrs. Mozelle Dyer McBurnett, age 78, of 1044 Browning Road Rockmart, GA passed away Sunday, December 14, 2008 at her residence following several months of declining health.


She was born in Polk County, GA on September 11, 1930 a daughter of the late Johnny G. Dyer and Odie Mae Lewis Dyer. Mrs. McBurnett had lived all of her life in Polk County where she was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She retired from the Arrow Shirt Factory in Buchanan with 36 years of service. Mrs. McBurnett was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. James Lee McBurnett on January 28, 1999 to whom she was married on July 16, 1955 and by a sister, Ms. Idell Dyer on January 6, 2007.


Survivors include her three children: Mrs. Susan Wood, Cedartown, Mr. Mike McBurnett, Rockmart and Mrs. Pam Garrett, Rockmart; one sister, Mrs. Fronnie Mae Brown, Rockmart; one brother, Mr. Melvin Dyer, Rockmart; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.


Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Hoyt Lewis, Rev. Charles Dyer and Rev. Donnie Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.


Pallbearers will include: Jason Howard, Zack Howard, Ronnie Dyer, Chris Brown, Tony Brown, Mitch Williams, Ricky Williams and Ryan Dean.


The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
