Myra Maxine Owens

Mrs. Myra Maxine Owens, age 74, of Cedartown, GA passed away Friday, October 1, 2021 upon arrival to the local hospital.

She was born in Ft. Payne, AL on January 8, 1947 a daughter of the late Russell Hardinger and the late Florence Pope Hardinger. Mrs. Owens had lived the greater part of her life in Cedartown and worked in food service for the Polk County School for 43 years. She was a member of the Bellview Baptist Church. Mrs. Owens enjoyed camping, cooking, playing cards, crossword puzzles and reading.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Russell D.C. Owens, sisters: Ruby Hardinger and Doris Cochren and by a brother, Bobby Hardinger.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years Doug Owens; son, Kirk Owens (Barbara); brother, Tom Hardinger; five grandchildren: K.J. Owens, Kathalean Owens Little (Daryl), MiKayla Owens Brewster (Trevor), Zachary Owens and Bradley Owens; five great grandchildren; special niece, Angie McCain (Lee); fiancé of Russell D.C. Owens, Jaimee Little and her children: Harley and Ryan Little.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 3, 2021 at 4:00 pm in the Bellview Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Purser and Rev. Kenny Jennings officiating. Interment will follow in the Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Charles Dabbs, Charles Rayburn, Chad Dabbs, Edwin Owens, Wayne Purser and David Howard. Honorary pallbearers will include: Daryl Little, K.J. Owens , Kathalean Little, MiKayla Owens Brewster, Zachary Owens and Bradley Owens

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:30 pm until the funeral hour at 4:00 pm in the Bellview Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial gifts be made in Mrs. Owens memory to the Bellview Baptist Church.

The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
