Ollie Ruth Moore

Mrs. Ollie Ruth Moore, age 90, of 528 Hunter Street Rockmart passed away Monday, December 22, 2008 in a Rome Medical Center.


She was born in Haralson County, GA on February 28, 1918 a daughter of the late John Dudley Rowell and Hattie McClung Rowell. Mrs. Moore had been a resident of the Rockmart area since 1918. She was a homemaker who loved to quilt and was a member of the Mountain View Baptist Church. Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Carey M. Moore on December 31, 1993, by a daughter, Mrs. Anne McCraney on April 29, 2005 and by an infant son, James Elton Swift.


Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Reece; two sons: Mr. Roy Swift and Mr. Anthony Swift all of Rockmart; 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.


Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Delton Harne and Rev. Tim Patnode officiating. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery.


Members of Rockmart Masonic Lodge # 97 F. & A.M. will serve as pallbearers.


The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
