Patricia Ann Huggins Floyd

Mrs. Patricia Ann Huggins Floyd, age 67, of 52 Floyd Way, Cedartown, GA passed away Saturday, February 14, 2009 at her residence following a lengthy illness.


She was born in Fernandina Beach, Florida on July 5, 1941 a daughter of James Andrew Huggins and Iva Lee Barber Huggins. Mrs. Floyd moved to Polk County over 50 years ago from Amelia Island, Florida. She sang in church at the age of three and accepted the Lord as her Saviour at the age of five. Mrs. Floyd was a member of the Destiny International Worship Center of Dallas, GA. and was an ordained minister. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Iva Lee Huggins, by a brother, Robert Andrew Huggins, a sister, Linda Ruth Huggins and by a granddaughter Amanda Diane Floyd Mann.


Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Mr. Freeman (Harold) Floyd, Sr. to whom she was married on November 26, 1957; three children: James (Ricky) Floyd, Sr. and wife Teresa, Lynn (Darlene) Shelton and Freeman Harold (Hal) Floyd, Jr.all of Cedartown; six grandchildren: James Ricky (Rick) Floyd, Jr., Michael (Kyle) Shelton and wife Rachel and (Kela) Rae Shelton; great grandchildren: Cason Mann, Trudi Floyd, Austin Shelton, Logan Shelton, Kaleb Shelton and Adyson Shelton.


Funeral services will be held Monday, February 16, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with her son, Pastor Ricky Floyd, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery, Cedartown.


Pallbearers will include: Clint Ellenburg, Kyle Shelton, Rick Floyd, Joseph Ingram, James Huggins and Michael Floyd.


The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. and at other hours may be contacted at the residence


The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Mrs. Patricia Ann Huggins Floyd.
