Portia Diane Coker Vice

Mrs. Portia Diane Coker Vice, age 60, of 300 Park Place Rockmart, GA passed away Friday, September 10, 2010 in a Rome Medical Center following a lengthy illness.


She was born in Fish Creek, GA on May 13, 1950 a daughter of the late John Vester Coker and Margie Edna Womack Coker. Mrs. Vice had lived the greater part of her life in Polk County. She was of the Baptist faith and had formerly worked for Integrated Products and the Bundy Corporation. She was preceded in death by a son, David Allen Vice on July 24, 1992 and by one brother and three sisters.


Survivors include a son and daughter in law: Daniel and Billie Sue Vice, Rockmart; one brother, Sammy Coker, Weaver, AL; two sisters: Edna Welch, Rockmart and Sue Gill, Lexington, KY; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.


Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 12, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller& Son Funeral Home with Rev. David Warriner officiating and Mrs. Pam Hooper delivering a eulogy. Interment will follow in Rockmart Memorial Gardens.


Pallbearers will include: Michael Doran, Ronnie Sparks, Joe Hooper, Donnie Coker, Lonnie Coker and Clay Coker.


The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
