Raymond Duncan

June 30, 1941 — March 6, 2016

Mr. Raymond Duncan, age 74, of Silver Creek, GA passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016 at his residence following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Haralson County, GA on June 30, 1941 a son of James Thomas Duncan and Lottie Redden Duncan. Mr. Duncan had lived the greater part of his life in Polk County and was a member of the Silver Creek Church of God. He was a self employed truck driver for over 40 years. Mr. Duncan loved to joke around, work outside and enjoyed fishing.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by daughters: Laura Jean Duncan , Annie Lorraine Duncan and Nerissa Duncan; son, Duane Duncan; step-son, Frankie Higdon; great grandson, Caiden Perrot; sister, Ludie Busby and by brothers: R.C., Marvin and Johnny Duncan.

Survivors include two daughters: Selena Bonne, Illinois and Heidi Hill, Rockmart; son, Micah Duncan, Clayton, GA; step daughters: Lois Higdon, Missouri and Shayla Mueller, California; thirteen grandchildren ; four great grandchildren; four sisters: Sudie Cumbaa, Cedartown, Ruby Redden, Rockmart, Janie Duncan, Silver Creek and Nancy Babb, Cave Spring; five brothers: J.W. Duncan, Cedartown, Jimmy Duncan, Rome, Claudie Duncan, Lindale, Randy Duncan, Silver Creek and Benny Duncan, Aragon; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Edwards, Rev. Bob Lawson and Rev. Jarrell Eaves officiating. A eulogy will be given by a daughter, Heidi Hill. Interment will follow in the Live Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Mike, Chris, Drew and Derek Duncan, Danny Busby and Jeremy Rogers.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.

The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mr. Raymond Duncan.
