Rev. Calvin W. Brown, Jr., age 69, of Rockmart, GA passed away Monday, November 30, 2020 at his residence.

Calvin was born in Polk County, GA on January 23, 1951, a son of the late Calvin W. Brown, Sr. and the late Betty Jo Thompson Brown. He had lived the greater part of his life in Polk County where he was a 1969 graduate of Cedartown High School and moved to Rockmart in 1970. Calvin received his Doctor Of Ministry Degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He served many churches in the surrounding area since entering the Ministry in 1976. Calvin enjoyed golfing, fishing and was a member of the Rockmart Masonic Lodge #97 F & AM. Calvin retired from AT&T after forty-eight years of service with Southern Bell, Bell South, then AT&T.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-one years, Rita Ezell Brown, Rockmart to whom he was married on June 19, 1969; two sons: Eric Brown and his wife, Kim, Rockmart and Jason Brown and his wife, Bree, Rockmart; four grandchildren: Megan Robinson, Mackenzie Myers, Evan Brown, and Jake Brown; two great-grandchildren: Cooper Robinson, Jack Myers; two sisters: Susan Walker, Rome and Polly Astin, Clarksville; brother, Joseph Brown, Rome; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the Fairview Baptist Church with Rev. Aaron Johnson, Mr. Scott Grodeman, and Rev. Rick Reaves officiating. His son, Mr. Jason Brown will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens with Mr. Neal Brown officiating.

Pallbearers will include: Eric Brown, Jason Brown, Evan Brown, Jake Brown, Denver Myers, and Dustin Robinson. Honorary pallbearers will include the Deacons of Aragon Baptist Church and the AT&T Cartersville A-Team.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Social distancing guidelines will be followed and facial coverings are recommended.
