Robert Lee Deems

Mr. Robert Lee Deems, age 70, of Cedartown, GA passed away Monday, January 6, 2020.

He was born in Rockmart, GA on September 25, 1949, a son of the late Willard M. Deems and the late Sarah Mildred Pope. Mr. Deems had lived all of his life in Polk County and was a member of the Liberty View Baptist Church. He had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to flea markets. His greatest enjoyment was attending church and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandson, Trevor Stephen Deems; and two sisters: Faye Smith and Linda Gail Ingle.

Survivors include his three sons: Randy Deems, Rome, Michael Deems and his wife Brandi, Cedartown and Steve Deems and his wife, Ginger, Rome; five grandchildren: Shelby Lovinggood and her husband Matt, Brooklyne Wooldridge and her husband Johnny, Krista Deems, Reagan Deems and Caleb Deems; two great grandchildren: Xander Lovinggood and S.J. Wooldridge; brother, Rev. Tim Deems and his wife Missy, Aragon; sister Shirley Bridgman, Aragon; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Bryan Tate, Rev. David Fincher and Rev. Tim Deems officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Honk Smith, Kevin Smith, Dwight Smith, Ricky Deems, Colt Deems and Jamey Cook. Honorary pallbearers will include: Jamie Brumbelow, David Moats, Chris Fincher, Don Jacobs, Greg Deaton and Mark Jacobs.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 pm until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
