Robert Lee Redden

Mr. Robert Lee Redden, age 58, of Kingston, GA passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2013 in Cartersville Medical Center following a brief illness.


Robert was born in Rome, GA on October 28, 1954 a son of the late Floyd Henry Redden and Almyer Grant Redden. He had been a resident of Bartow County for the past fourteen years. Mr. Redden had been employed by YRC Worldwide Freight for twenty seven years. He loved to work outside in his yard and was an avid NASCAR fan. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Clint Allen Redden on May 17, 2011.


Survivors include his wife, Janet Redden to whom he was married on July 26, 1998; daughter, Valerie Grizzle (Josh), Rome; two step daughters: Christina Bryant (Kente), Hawaii and Amanda Hudson (Tommy), Jacksonville, FL; granddaughter, Kerrigan Hudson, Jacksonville, FL; brothers and sisters: Floyd Junior Redden (Wonda), Rockmart, Helen Redden Jackson, Silver Creek, Hoyt E. Redden (Ann), Valdosta, Sylvia Redden Dutton (Tommy), Lafayette, Patricia (Trish) Redden Wood (Mark), Lindale, Brenda Redden Grimes, Aragon and Teresa Redden Morrow (Roger), Cedartown; mother in law, Sadie Lee, Jacksonville, FL.


Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Chisolm and Rev. Michael Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.


Pallbearers will include: Josh Grizzle, Kevin Redden, Chad Redden, David Hutto, Jerry Hutto and Clyde Redden.


The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.


The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
