Ronald (Ronnie) Hicks

Mr. Ronald (Ronnie) Hicks, age 76, of Rockmart, GA passed away Sunday, December 6, 2020.

Ronnie was born in Laurel, MS on May 5, 1944, a son of the late Grady Hicks and the late Myrtis Keyes Hicks. Born in Mississippi, Ronnie lived his childhood and young adult life in Laurel before moving to Georgia in the 1970’s. He was a member of the Rockmart Second Baptist Church and the John W. Akin Lodge #537 F. & A.M in Taylorsville. Ronnie enjoyed fishing, camping, and gardening.

Survivors include his wife of fifty six years, Darleine Gorman Hicks of Rockmart, to whom he was married on June 21, 1964; children: Rhonda Eichenberger and her husband, Kurt, Rome and Rodney Hicks and his wife, Tami, Canton; five grandchildren: Zaynab K. Taei, Brandon Hicks and his wife Holly, Nicholas Eichenberger, Amanda Hicks, and Sarah Eichenberger; two great-grandchildren: Diem Hicks and Riggins Hicks; two step-grandchildren: Brittany Moss and her husband Devin and Brad Daugherty; step great-grandchild, Oakley Moss; two brothers: Gary Hicks and his wife, Glenda, Laurel, MS, and Hal Hicks, Laurel, MS; two sisters: Betty West and her husband, Leonard, Laurel, MS, and Tammy Windham and her husband Mark, Laurel, MS.

Mr. Hicks will lie instate on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 from 11:30 am until 1:30 pm at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home. The family will have a private graveside service with Rev. David Warriner officiating and masonic graveside rites. Social distancing guidelines will be followed and masks are required. The graveside service will be live streamed on the funeral home's facebook page.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Ronnie.

The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements for Mr. Ronald (Ronnie) Hicks.
