Rose Walraven Mcentire

Mrs. Rose Walraven McEntire, age 82, formerly of Live Oak Circle, Aragon passed away Sunday, October 19, 2014 in a Rome medical center.

She was born in Murray County, GA on November 16, 1931, a daughter of the late Gordon Walraven and the late Frankie Rogers Walraven. Mrs. McEntire had lived most of her life in Polk County where she was a member of the Live Oak Baptist Church. She had a love for gardening, cooking, canning and working with her livestock. Mrs. McEntire spent her working career at Lindale Manufacturing where she retired after many years of service.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Carl Daniel McEntire on January 9, 2010; and by four brothers: Bob, James, Wayne and Ronald Walraven.

Survivors include her five children: Michael McEntire and his wife Barbara, Aragon, Joe McEntire and his wife Gail, Cedartown, Donnie McEntire and his wife Debra, Calhoun, Barbara Garland and her husband Johnny, Calhoun and Deborah Davenport, Silver Creek; thirteen grandchildren; thirty three great grandchildren; three sisters: Katherine Fry, Dalton, Geneva Cox, Ringold and Linda Jongema, Acworth; a number of nieces and nephews and her special pet companion, Sparkle also survive.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Stevie Waddell officiating and a eulogy given by Kirstie Adams. Interment will follow in the Live Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include: Barry McEntire, Lamar McEntire, Josh Davenport, Randy McEntire, Clay Hulsey and Keith Hulsey. Honorary pallbearers will include: Aaron Dodd, Scott Silvers, J.C. Garland and Kyle Smith.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the funeral of Mrs. Rose Walraven McEntire.
